Fate of Warman's wastewater lagoon to be decided this year
Warman’s city council may decide later this year whether the rapidly growing city has outgrown its wastewater lagoon, which leaves some residents gasping for fresh air each spring.
City manager Bob Smith said people complain every spring about the smell that wafts from the lagoon, which is situated about three kilometres southeast of the city. This year, six people have contacted city hall about the odour to say it was more pungent and being smelled more frequently than in previous years.
