Diefenbaker Park hill plans include summer recreation

Plans to convert a hill in Diefenbaker Park to a winter recreation area include a possible synthetic surface to allow snowboarding in summer.
Rob Letts, co-chair of the Optimist Hill fundraising campaign, touted this possibility at Friday’s meeting of the Meewasin Valley Authority board. The board granted conditional approval for the project.
In an interview, Letts said an announcement on a start date for work on the project is expected in about a month, as is an update on fundraising.
