Court rejects application to force meeting to oust Saskatoon Co-op board

A Saskatoon judge has thrown out an application to force Saskatoon Co-op’s board of directors to hold a special meeting during which members could install a new board amid a contentious strike, calling it “improperly” motivated.
In his nine-page decision, Court of Queen’s Bench Justice Neil Gabrielson said evidence indicates the application was an attempt to influence the co-operative’s bargaining position as it negotiated with its striking employees.
