Council embraces youth on committees, defers some decisions

Some City of Saskatoon advisory committees could soon have members as young as 16.
City councillors voted on changes to the structure of committees that provide advice to council on various issues at Tuesday’s governance and priorities committee meeting.
Many of the key decisions were deferred, but the committee — which includes all councillors and the mayor — voted 7-2 to require that a student aged 16 to 23 be included on each advisory committee.
