CN Rail apologizing for grain backlog, promising to do 'much better'

One of Canada’s largest railways is apologizing for its failure to meet customers’ expectations amid growing concern about a costly grain backlog.
Canadian National Railway Co. also pledged to “immediately improve” the movement of crops from Western Canada. CN issued its mea culpa one day after it and Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. received a letter from the federal government describing rail performance as “disappointing” and requesting rapid action.
