Citizenship ceremony on the river a historic first for Canada
Fifteen Saskatchewan residents embarked on the Prairie Lily as citizens from around the world. They returned to shore as official Canadians.
Saskatoon’s local riverboat hosted a special citizenship ceremony on Tuesday for a select number of newcomers. It was the first time in Canadian history that a citizenship ceremony took place on water, according to a news release citing Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
