Chief Mistawasis: North commuter bridge to be named after Cree chief

Saskatoon’s new north commuter parkway bridge will be named after the Cree chief who signed and helped negotiate Treaty 6.
Narrowed down from nearly 500 submissions, the bridge will recognize Chief Mistawasis — the iconic northern plains leader known for his hunting in what is now the Saskatoon area and also for his role in the 1876 Treaty 6 negotiations.
