Cat rescued from burning home in Varsity View

A cat in Saskatoon’s Varsity View neighbourhood got lucky after fire crews rescued it from a burning home.
The fire, which broke out at 1136 Elliot Street around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, caused damages to the home estimated at $50,000.
According to a fire department news release, there were two cats in the home at the time of the blaze. While fire crews were able to rescue one cat, the second had already died by the time it was located by rescuers.
