Car thefts spike in Saskatoon as mercury settles
As much of Saskatoon hunkers down to avoid the bone-cracking cold, city police are warning those brave enough to venture out to avoid leaving a running vehicle unattended, even for a few minutes.
Insp. Randy Huisman said car thefts more than doubled on Tuesday and Wednesday, largely because idling vehicles present would-be thieves with an easy opportunity.
