Camp creates a community for children with heart problems

Melina Brandt has been living with a heart condition all her life.
She was born with a double inlet left ventricle, a congenital heart defect; her left ventricle doesn’t work. She has had three heart surgeries, one at four weeks old, another at four months old, and another at three years old.
She’s been fine since then, and now, at age 11, living with the condition just feels normal, she says.
