73-year-old La Ronge mushroom picker rescued by helicopter

A 73-year-old La Ronge man was rescued from a remote northern area after he used a signal fire to get the attention of responding rescuers.
According to an RCMP news release, officers from the La Ronge detachment received a report on Thursday around 9:30 a.m. that a man had become separated from his wife two days earlier while mushroom picking in the Wapawekka area.
While the man was an “experienced woodsman” and was equipped with some supplies, there was concern for his well-being,
