Graduating 'a dream' for Kokum getting her Grade 12 with grandson

Brenda "Connie" Stonestand, 63, dropped out of high school to care for her ailing mother when she was young. Now, the Kokum is graduating Grade 12 with her grandson, Sage Stonestand-Checkosis, 17,at James Smith Cree Nation, 200 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
