Sarnia considering first electric bus purchase

Sarnia’s first electric bus could be rolling on city streets this year. Council will be asked Monday to approve $115,000 – the bus’s full $577,000 cost is 80 per cent covered by a federal Rural Transit Solutions Fund (RTSF) grant – to buy a six-metre Damera Corp. e-JEST and a portable charger. The 100-per-cent electric, low-floor mini-bus is in stock in Ontario and, if approved, could arrive within  months, city engineering and operations general manager David Jackso
