Worker stable after being struck by backhoe

A 48-year-old construction worker was in stable condition in the hospital after being struck with a backhoe at an Orléans construction site Tuesday morning.
Paramedics said that they cared for the man, who had chest injuries, after the 8:12 a.m. incident at Vantage and Vanguard drives.
City police responded to the incident but the investigation is now in the hands of the Ministry of Labour.
