What it's like being black (or brown) in Ottawa

The greeter at the door doesn’t greet you. Security keeps an eye on you in the store. The bank teller questions you every time you deposit a cheque. Police follow you when you’re walking home from work, asking where you’ve been and what’s in your backpack.
