Wet Wednesday smashes local rainfall record

Environment Canada ended its rainfall warning Wednesday afternoon, but not before a deluge soaked the city and smashed a local record in the process.
Amounts of 50 to 85 mm had already been reported across parts of Eastern Ontario including the Ottawa area Wednsday morning.
The downpour shattered Environment Canada’s local rainfall record for July 25 of 41.1 mm, set in 1969.
