Watson pledges annual tax hike ceiling of three per cent
Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson pledged on Sunday to keep property tax increases to between two and three per cent annually during the next municipal term.
Guided by his trademark prudence but prodded by repeated complaints about the state of the city’s roads, Watson said an increase in the two-to-three per cent range would generate an extra $10.3 million in 2019 revenues, compared to 2018.
