Warrant issued after Ottawa man skips U.S. arraignment on assault, hate crime charges
An arrest warrant has been issued in the U.S. for Brandon Vaughan of Ottawa after he failed to show up in a Washington, D.C., courtroom to face charges of assault and hate crime.
Vaughan, 23, was to have been appeared on a felony arraignment Tuesday morning for his alleged role in the beating of a Palestinian man at a March 2017 demonstration in Washington.
With Vaughan a no-show, the court issued a bench warrant for his arrest, said William Miller, a spokesman for the U.S. Department of Justice
