UPDATED: Responders attempt to free deceased worker trapped in buried excavator

FARRELLTON, Que. — Rescuers were working on a plan Friday to safely free the body of a man who died when his high hoe was buried by a landslide at a West Quebec sandpit more than 24 hours earlier.
First responders had had mere minutes to confirm that the unidentified man was dead when they were called to the scene near Farrellton Thursday morning. On Friday they were awaiting soil experts so no one else would get hurt in a recovery effort.
