UPDATE: Ottawa pilot, 51, killed in Michigan crash

A 51-year-old Ottawa man is dead after his small plane crashed less than a kilometre away from a Michigan airport early Thursday, local police said.
The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office later identified the man as Stephan Maisonneuve.
In a news release, police said Maisonneuve had been flying a 1981 Cessna model 340 twin engine airplane and was expected to land at St. Clair County International Airport, about 600 km southwest of Ottawa, around midnight.
