UPDATE: An overnight shooting is now being investigated as a homicide

A man in Vanier is dead.
Police and paramedics responded to an emergency call on Freshette Street near Jolliet Avenue in Vanier at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday.
A man in his 50s had gone into cardiac arrest after being shot.
Police were first to arrive and performed CPR and used a defibrillator to try and stabilize the man.
As soon as they arrived, paramedics took over from police and performed “aggressive life saving interventions.”
