'Unknown number' of animals perish in SPCA fire in Gatineau

Firefighters braved intense flames to rescue a dozen dogs from a fire that destroyed the SPCA of Western Quebec Sunday night but an unknown number of animals perished.
Crews ultimately had to flee the building as the two-storey structure 659 Auguste Mondoux Street collapsed. It’s near the intersection of Chemin Pink and Chemin Vanier.
