Trudeau says no to new Afghan mission

Fifteen nations have committed to provide more troops for Afghanistan, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said Thursday.
Canada, however, will not be among those countries sending training troops to aid the Afghan military. “There are absolutely no plans to send any troops back to Afghanistan,” Trudeau told reporters Thursday. “We have served there with distinction, with valour, over 10 years and made a significant impact.”
