Transpo determines what caused blips in next-stop system, leading to $25K fine

OC Transpo has figured out why its next-stop announcement system wasn’t working on some buses when federal inspectors went for rides around Ottawa last November.
Transportation general manager John Manconi provided the reasons in a memo to council on Tuesday. In one case, a bus left before its scheduled start time and threw off the automated system for the first few stops. In another case, the internal speakers on the bus weren’t working properly. The remaining case was a “tech
