Tornado watch, thunderstorm warning end as Ottawa sees rain, loonie-sized hail

The capital got a big wet blast Tuesday as Ottawa and much of Eastern Ontario sat under a tornado watch and two thunderstorm warnings, with reports of hail and downed trees that snarled traffic and toppled power lines.
Environment Canada issued the tornado watch on Tuesday morning, pointing to the threat of a “dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation” for a wide swathe of Eastern Ontario, including Ottawa.
