Tornado watch issued as Ottawa sees rain, loonie-sized hail

The capital got a big wet blast Tuesday as Ottawa and much of Eastern Ontario sat under a tornado watch with reports of hail and downed trees that snarled traffic and toppled power lines.
And more could be on the way.
Environment Canada issued the watch on Tuesday morning, pointing to the threat of a “dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation” for a wide swathe of Eastern Ontario, including Ottawa.
