Ton of contraband tobacco seized in Cornwall

Three people face charges after members of a smuggling task force on a border patrol last month spotted large bags being transferred between a boat on the St. Lawrence River and a vehicle on the Cornwall waterfront.
A total of 1,064 kilograms of contraband fine cut tobacco was seized along with a 2017 Dodge Ram truck.
Police converged on the area after observing the Nov. 13 handover and arrested Cornwall residents Keith Seyeau, 43, and Jennifer Harries, 41. They face charges under the Excise Act
