Founders of G7 nations get no respect
Re: Did Global Affairs Shrug off History? May 7.
Andrew Duffy quotes Sen. Serge Joyal with respect to razing the Glasgow rowhouse where Sir John A. Macdonald may have been born: “We are probably the only country among the G7 that treats their founders this way.”
In fact, Canada is remarkably good company among the G7 countries, if we look at the fates of the birth places of those who may be considered their founders.
