Texas woman, 55, dies when thrown from kayak into Ottawa River

A 55-year-old Texas woman who was described as an experienced kayaker died Tuesday after she was thrown from her kayak on an excursion in the Whitewater Region Township along the Ottawa River.
Emergency crews were called at about 10 a.m. after a caller reported the woman had been pulled from the water after being ejected from her kayak while being caught in rapids.
