Texas woman, 55, dies after kayaking excursion in Ottawa River

A 55-year-old Texas woman who was described as an experienced kayaker died Tuesday during a kayaking excursion in the Whitewater Region Township along the Ottawa River.
According to Wilderness Tours, the company that runs the kayak course the woman was taking, the woman was “playing” in the Lorne Rapids around 10 a.m. but was unable to right herself after capsizing.
The woman floated downstream, holding onto her kayak, while two rescuers in kayaks attempted to get her to shore,
