Take Back the Night marks 40th year

Marchers joined in the annual Take Back the Night event in downtown Ottawa on Thursday, the 40th anniversary of the march against sexual and gender-based violence.
The mass gatherings and marches are a call for safety and equality for women in all places, at all times. Organizers say they are a chance to emphasize that women will not be passive and accept violence against them, but will instead speak out and take action together for change.
