Suspect sought in west end robberies

City police are asking the public to help them identify a suspect in three west-end robberies, two of them within 20 minutes on Thursday after staff at the first targeted business refused to hand over cash.
On Friday, Feb. 1 at 9:56 a.m., a suspect walked into a bank on Merivale Road north of Baseline Road and demanded money. He said he had a weapon, although none was seen, and fled with an undisclosed sum.
