Suspect in fatal stabbing arrested by police

Ottawa police Friday arrested a suspect in the April daytime slaying of Devon Labelle in Vanier, the Citizen has learned.
Police arrested Kirvens Lamarre, 22, Friday evening, just hours after issuing a broadcast to all officers that homicide detectives had reasonable and probable grounds to arrest the man for second-degree murder.
Labelle, 24, known as “D-Loc,” was found stabbed and bleeding on a busy corner on Montreal Road just before 3:30 p.m. on April 27.
