Submerged Ottawa River surfer found safe on Gatineau side

Ottawa firefighters launched a water rescue late Sunday afternoon after getting a 911 call from a bystander who saw a surfer go under the water at the Remic Rapids.
Gatineau police confirmed they’d found the surfer and that he was OK.
Ottawa Fire Services launched the rescue from the Champlain Bridge and Remic Rapids area after the 5:21 p.m. and called in Ottawa police and paramedics along with Gatineau police and fire case the surfer made it that far.
