Strike deadline looms at Irving Shipbuilding

How would a strike at Irving affect the federal government’s shipbuilding strategy? Some 800 unionized employees at Irving Shipbuilding in Halifax, including metal fabricators and electricians, recently voted in favour of strike action when their current contract expires at the end of December, the Canadian Press has reported. The vote was 99 per cent in favour of strike.
