Statement from Sajjan’s office on alleged rape shows little respect for the victim

Federal departments and the offices of ministers often use standard statements to deal with serious issues. Staff cut and paste these pre-approved messages and email those off to journalists so it appears like the department or minister in question is taking action.
One of these statements is “We take all allegations of sexual misconduct very seriously” or a variation of that. The Canadian Forces/Department of National Defence has been sending out this statement or something similar
