Snow brings numerous collisions, weather travel advisory

A sudden dump of snow snarled traffic in and around Ottawa on Wednesday evening, with Environment Canada issuing a winter weather travel advisory at 5:45 p.m.
“Snow, heavy at times, will affect the region this evening. Snowfall amounts of 2 to 4 cm are likely before the snow tapers off this evening,” the advisory stated. “Motorists should be prepared for challenging winter driving conditions including quickly accumulating snow on area highways.”
