Smog warning issued for Gatineau, western Quebec

Environment Canada has issued a smog warning for the east side of the Ottawa River from Gatineau stretching down to Montreal.
“High concentrations of particles will affect Southern Quebec beginning Friday evening and should persist into Saturday morning,” the agency cautions.
The poor air quality will warned that small children and people with respiratory ailments or heart conditions avoid strenuous outdoor activity until the warning is lifted.
