Smiths Falls pool closes after funding dries up

Smiths Falls’ popular Aquatic Resource Centre closed its doors until further notice on Friday after its municipal revenue stream dried up.
The not-for-profit pool — the largest in the region — operated in a privately owned centre, relying on funding from Smiths Falls, Montague, Merrickville-Wolford and Rideau Lakes townships to subsidize it.
