SIU charged 20 Ontario cops in 2016

Ontario’s Special Investigation Unit laid charges against 20 police officers in 17 incidents across the province in 2016, a charge rate of 5.3 per cent of the 296 cases the provincial police watchdog completed last year. The charge rate is slightly lower than 2015, when the SIU laid charges in 15 of the 255 cases it closed that year.
