Sick days taken by teachers and educators at Ottawa public school board continue to climb

The number of teachers and other educators at Ottawa’s English public school board calling in sick continues to climb, but it’s not clear why and how to arrest the trend.
The number of sick days taken by staff at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board has increased by 33 per cent over the past five years, according to a staff report. Staff took an average 12 sick days in 2017-18, up from 8.61 days in 2013-14.
