Shot beagle Sadie Mae loses eye, but is recuperating well

A beagle that suffered a gunshot wound to the head and left on a trail in Carp is doing well despite losing its eye during surgery.
The dog, affectionately named Sadie Mae by the Ottawa Humane Society, was discovered wandering on a trail on Nov. 11 by passersby driving on an ATV behind Hidden Lake.
She had suffered serious wounds to her skull, left eye and left ear, and was transferred to the OHS to receive life-saving care.
