Senators reducing Canadian Tire Centre seating by 1500

When it comes to attendance, the Ottawa Senators are banking on a less is more philosophy.
After a 2016-17 that included far too many empty seats – including not selling out for playoff games – the Senators have reduced seating capacity at Canadian Tire Centre to 17,000 from the previous 18,500.
The upper bowl of the arena is now covered with tarps.
“The attendance shifts have been dramatic over a period of two decades,” Senators owner Eugene Melnyk said during a franchis
