Schools remain open as thousands affected by power outages Monday morning

Thousands of people were without power Monday morning as Hydro Ottawa reported multiple overlapping outages in Barrhaven, Bay, College, Knoxdale-Merivale, Kanata North and College wards of the city.
“Crews are working to restore power as soon as possible,” the utility said, however one outage affecting nearly 2,000 customers has an estimated restoration time of Monday evening.
