Salvation Army to close Pembroke ops after 130 years

The Salvation Army is closing its doors in Pembroke immediately after more than 130 years of operation in the city.
The organization issued a release this week saying the agency’s local family services, food bank, soup kitchen, youth outreach centre and Christmas Hamper Program will no longer be available.
The closure means two employees will lose their jobs. The agency’s properties on downtown Pembroke Street will be put up for sale.
