The Salvation Army has confirmed plans to redevelop a site on Montreal Road as a multi-service community hub. Some in the community are expressing fears that the facility will further stigmatize the neighbourhood. Words used to express concern include: worrying about the “dumping” of “those” people, or replicating the “scene of a gothic movie” filled with unsavoury characters including “the mentally troubled.”
