Safe Boating Week kicks off Saturday: Wear a life-jacket!

After a dubious record year of boating fatalities in 2017, Ontario Provincial Police and the Canadian Safe Boating Council are redoubling their calls urging boaters to wear a life-jacket or flotation device.
Boating-related deaths hit an eight-year high in 2017 with 31 people losing their lives, up from 23 the year before.
And more than three-quarters of the victims over the two years, 42 out of 54, were not wearing, or not properly wearing a flotation device.
