RIP, Hugh Masekela

South African trumpeter and jazz musician Hugh Masekela, the trumpeter and seminal South African jazz musician, died Tuesday in Johanneburg. The 78-year-old died after a long battle with prostrate cancer, his family announced on Twitter.Masekela’s travels took him to the main stage of the Ottawa Jazz Festival twice during the 2000s.
