Rideau Canal closed due to adverse weather conditions

The National Capital Commission has announced that, effective immediately, the Rideau Canal Skateway is temporarily closed because of adverse weather conditions and their negative impact on the ice.
 Snow, rain or water on the ice surface may hide serious deterioration of the ice surface. For this reason, the NCC urges the public to refrain from venturing onto the Canal. They also remind people to respect the barricades and the signs installed at access points.
