Renowned home designer dies after falling from ladder

Ottawa has lost one of its most decorated home designers.
Friedemann Weinhardt, founder of Design First Interiors, died on Aug. 7 after falling from a ladder at his home. He was 63.
Weinhardt’s death came as a shock to his family, friends, and the building and design community.
“He was a very smart designer and he always knew what the input should be (on a project),” said Roy Nandram of RND Construction, who worked with Weinhardt over the years and went toe to toe with him at a
